Trump Responds After FBI Agent Escorted Out of Bureau During Mar A Lago Raid Investigations

Former President Donald Trump seems to find some satisfaction in watching the FBI, DOJ, and White House fumble and scramble to manage the fall-out related to their handling of a raid on his Mar-a-Largo home on August 8. On Tuesday, Trump lauded the firing of the FBI agent who had lead roles in coordinating the ramp-up to the raid.

Trump threw light on the FBI’s missteps in a series of posts on his Truth Social platform, concluding with asking if the agent’s firing “ends the fake witch hunt?”

Trump’s comments follow a report in The Washington Times noting that Tim Thibault, FBI Washington Field Office Assistant Special Agent in Charge, was fired and escorted out of the bureau on Friday.

According to the Washington Times, a whistleblower alleged that Thibault showed political bias in his handling of politically sensitive investigations.

Ben Whedon at Just the News noted “Mr. Thibault was seen exiting the bureau’s elevator last Friday escorted by two or three ‘headquarters-looking types.’” Whedon also noted that according to two unnamed former FBI officials, Thibault was “forced to leave his post.”

The information being leaked to news outlets allege that Thibault concealed the partisan nature of the evidence he gathered against Trump from FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland.

Many question whether political bias was limited to the one agent, and if it was possible for Wray and Garland to be in the dark on a matter of such importance.

According to unnamed sources, Thibault concealed key information to secure approval from Wray and Garland to open an investigation into former President Donald Trump in 2020, and that originally, the investigation was unrelated to the raid.

That claim was reportedly substantiated by Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) when he made certain information available to the public, reported Whedon.

The release of the heavily redacted affidavit revealed the warrant application relied heavily on secondary information from questionable news sources, including an article posted by CBS Miami titled “Moving Trucks Spotted At Mar-a-Lago.”

Trump took issue with how the FBI made damning accusations and disrupted his life based on spuriously sourced allegations.

“The Agent In Charge of the FBI investigation got his information from CBS Fake News,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, “which turned out to be, as usual, WRONG.

Trump continued: “Nobody said that to ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN’ was going to be easy!”

Highlighting his previous claim that the work of the FBI was compromised due to political bias, Trump wrote

“The fired agent who was just escorted out of the FBI headquarters is the person who got the FBI to do a Raid on a home, Mar-a-Lago, that has ‘stirred’ the World and created anger and hostility toward the FBI and DOJ the likes of which have perhaps never been seen in our Country before.”

Trump charged the FBI with having a history of unjust dealings, writing

“The ‘Special Agent’ In Charge of the unprecedented and unnecessary Raid and Break In of Mar-a-Lago, who concealed the partisan nature of evidence to secure the FBI’s approval to open an investigation into the 45th President in the first place, was also involved in the hiding and suppressing from the Public and the Media, the ‘Laptop from Hell,’ the 2020 Presidential Election Scam, and so much more!”

With a hint of sarcasm, Trump concluded:

“Wow, I assume this ends the Fake Witch Hunt? The ‘Special Agent’ In Charge has been removed from his post based on his concealing the partisan nature of the evidence presented to secure the FBI’s corrupt investigation into the 45th President of the United States, me, which culminated in their unprecedented and unnecessary Raid and Break-In of my home, Mar-a-Lago…

“Thank you to the FBI for taking this important step toward sanity!”

Trump included a link to Ben Whedon’s report in his post on Truth Social.
